Quarter 4

Only students who are not participating in the online learning are required to complete the work packet that was distributed at Hearn on April 15. (The packet that I posted yesterday is the packet that was distributed on April 15.)

6th Math Packet

I attached the final math packet. This is the packet that was handed out at Hearn on April 15 if you picked one up.
**Please note that the attachment that was posted recently is the wrong one and has been deleted from this page. This is the correct one and matches the packets that the school distributed. I apologize for any misunderstanding! :)

April 1, 2020

Hi! Thank you for your patience during this transition. Hearn Academy parents are the best!
As we move forward, please have your sixth grade child log in to Google Classroom daily to access daily learning opportunities. Students will be able to find assignments for their sixth grade subjects there. Students have their Google Classroom login information. If they need to retrieve their login information, they can contact Ms. Adams through her teacher page. Teachers may be reached by email or students may send messages through Google Classroom.
For math, I will be posting a daily classwork assignment on Google Classroom. Students will need to join my math class in Google Classroom by using an invite code.
Invite Codes
Core 1:  4p3pacd
Core 2:  7pobtie
Core 3:  mz5i25z
Assignments will include detailed instructions on how to complete and how to turn in. The assignments will be posted by 8am each morning and usually due by 11:59pm the same day.
I will be available to students everyday through Google Classroom messaging. I will also be available every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am-11am through Google Classroom for real-time help as needed. This time will also be used for class discussions and to connect with each other. Any changes to the schedule will be communicated to students through Google Classroom.
Mrs. Cherekos, Mr. Traud, and I are working closely together to ensure a successful transition and learning experience for all sixth grade students.
I look forward to navigating this new learning opportunity with you and your children!
Thank you,
Mrs. Debreceni

Hi! I want to remind students that www.mobymax.com is available to use. Students have a login and password. (If you donā€™t know your login information, email me and I will send it to you.) Students can send messages to me through MobyMax for any help or questions they have. I will be checking my school email and MobyMax messages often. šŸ˜
Take care,
Mrs. Debreceni

Fall Conferences

Hi! Fall conferences are being scheduled for October 10-11. The sixth grade teachers sent home a conference letter sign-up on Tuesday, September 25. The letter was sent home with your child. If you have not seen it yet, please ask your child about it. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child's homeroom teacher.
Thank you and I look forward to seeing you during conferences!

Class Updates

Hi! I have noticed that several parents/students have subscribed to my personal page on the Hearn Academy website. If you would to receive a weekly math update, please make sure you also subscribe to the 6th grade math class page. At the beginning of the week I will post the upcoming lessons for the week. Homework is assigned most nights Monday through Thursday. Homework is not assigned on Friday. You can check to see if your child's homework is completed by looking at the lessons in his/her math homework workbook.
It is part of the daily class routine for students to record the daily lesson in his/her agenda and to record the assigned problems in the math homework workbook. You can check your child's agenda for the daily lesson, and you can check to see if your child's homework is completed by looking at the lessons in his/her math homework workbook. Sometimes, worksheet practice will be assigned as homework. Students are allowed to staple the worksheet into their math workbooks.
If you do not receive the weekly math update, you may always visit the teacher page or 6th grade math class page to view updates at your convenience.
Additional Practice
If you would like additional math practice for your child, please login to MobyMax.com. Your child has a username and password. MobyMax provides individualized practice in all content areas.
