News & Announcements

Distance Learning: Hearn Academy has initiated a distance learning model (virtual learning). Students are being provided with two distinct models in order to complete 4th quarter grades.

OPTION #1:  As a 21st century learning community, teachers and school leaders encourage you alongside your student(s) to explore and participate in our technology- based learning opportunities which include Zoom meetings, Google Classroom and Moby Max. These options require an internet connection at your home, the use of a smart phone or home computer to participate. Options, times and teacher lead sessions are scheduled by each grade level team. Check with your child’s homeroom teacher if you have difficulty with the schedule or need a question addressed.   OPTION #2:  Not every family has technology readily available. For students who need to do their schoolwork by completing a written packet for each class; that is Option #2. Parents may drop off completed work and receive two additional written assignment packets on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Time for coming to school and receiving the materials is 6 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The return of materials, again, will be a drive by and drop off scheduled on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 6 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Emailing Teachers:

If you need to email your child's teachers (or previously emailed teachers and did not receive a response), please copy and paste their email addresses into your email program.

Hearn Academy Technology & Internet Access Survey

As you know, Governor Doug Ducey and Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman announced on March 30, 2020, the extension of the closure of Arizona schools through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. As a result, Ball Charter Schools has implemented a distance learning model (virtual learning). Help us assess how readily available technology and internet are for your student(s). Please complete ONE SURVEY PER FAMILY. Thank you for taking the time to help us better serve your child(ren).

Coronavirus Update

*Updated 3/30* As per Governor Ducey’s statement this morning, Hearn Academy and Ball Charter Schools will be delivering instruction through virtual learning opportunities through the end of the school year. The building is closed, but learning will continue. Student work is posted on the "Students" tab under "Mandatory Closure School Work", as well as the digital resources your child's teachers are using (Google Classroom, Class Dojo, Remind, Zoom, etc.).
